Purchase of mitigation credits is encouraged by the USACE and is preferred by NJDEP to satisfy mitigation requirements for small disturbances (1 1/2 acres or less).
Amy Greene Environmental staff has extensive experience in the establishment of wetland mitigation banks and is happy to work with landowners to assess the potential for their property
to be developed into a wetland mitigation bank. We can assist clients through the process of acquiring credits from an existing mitigation bank as compensation
for wetlands impacts authorized by State or Federal permits.
Amy Greene Environmental is currently designing the Great Egg/Tuckahoe Rivers Wetland Mitigation Bank in Watershed Management Area 15 in New Jersey, has received conceptual wetland
mitigation approval from NJDEP and is also working closely with the Mitigation Bank Review Team headed by the US Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District. Freshwater
and Tidal Wetland mitigation Credits are anticipated to be available for sale in late 2010 early 2011.
Monetary / Land Donation / Upland Preservation
If mitigation credits are not available, and no suitable wetland mitigation sites are available, we can assist clients in fulfilling
their mitigation requirements through preparation of a proposal for Upland Preservation, Monetary or Land Donation Proposal for submission to the NJ Wetland Mitigation Council.
